Intel Core i3-2310M - Sandy Bridge second generation core i3 processor

The core i3-2310M belongs to the second generation of the Intel's core i3 processors ( distinguished in the part number with the prefix 2 in the 2310M). This is a dual core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz. Compared to the 1st generation core i3, this processor has 10 to 15% speed advantage given the same clock rate. With this procesor you are getting the latest technology, though, it is not the high end 2nd generation core i3 processors.

The processor integrates the integrated graphics controller and will let you mid level games at mid resolution. The integrated graphics helps reduce the overall system power consumtion. It also helps keep the overall system cost down.

The extra graphics power will help in the display of HD content. Its power can also be used for video encoding when you need it.

Some more details of Core i3-2310M

The Core i3-2310M is the second generation Intel Core i3 processor improving significantly upon the architecture that evolved from Arrandale. Although turbo boost is not available in the core i3-2310M ( The newer turbo 2.0 technology, that increases the time for which processor can be in the boosted state, is available only on the second generation core i5 and i7 processors), the processor still shows significant perdormance improvement over similarly clocked 1st generation core i3 processor. The more significant improvement has been in the area of integrated graphics unit.
