The Dell I17RN-2706BK is close to a desktop replacement with a large 17.3-inch screen and large hard disk and a modest processor. Priced moderately ( $579 when last checked at best buy) the Dell this notebook is powered through the 2nd generation Intel core i3-2330M dual core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz.
Dell I17RN-2706BK features an HDMI out that can be used to display the content of your notebook on an HDTV. Other common features include 4 GB capacity , 640 GB capacity hard disk, VGA, HDMI, 8-in-1 card reader, DVD drive, Wi-Fi and many more. This 17.3-inch screen is driven by the Intel HD Graphics 3000, which is decent but possibly not great for high end fast moving games. Weighing 6.9 pounds the notebook is credited with one 6-cell Lithium-ion battery pack too.
Processor Details:
The Intel Core i3-2330M is dual core processor based on Sandy Bridge architecture. This processor is not having TurboBoost technology, but credited with HyperThredaing technology to handle 4 threads at once. This processor is clocked at 2.2 GHz and processor cores can access 3MB of smart cache. The TDP of this processor is 35 watt. This processor is credited with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 and a dual channel memory controller to support DDR3 memory.
Pros:
• Large screen laptop.
• Moderately priced ( though not inexpensive).
• Comes with HDMI that can be used for TV Display
Cons:
• The Intel HD Graphics 3000 may not be good enough for high end gaming.
