Intel st Generation Core i3-330M compared to Core i3-350M

In the table below we have compared the 1st generation Intel processors - The Intel Core i3-330M and the Intel Core i3-350M.

A relatively large number of the notebooks have already been using these processor, and are lately surpassed by the higher clocked Intel core i3-370M and Core i3-380M.

They have left the AMD's popular processors like Athlon ii P340 in performance.

The future for Intel looks brighter with the Second generation core i3 processors like i3-2310M - somthing that you would like to explore if you are going to buy a new laptop.

Some more details of Core i3-330M

The Hyperthreading in the core i3-330M allows 4 threads running simultaneously. The processor is built with two dies on the chip, the first die containing the two processor cores and the second die containing the Integrated memory controller and the integrated GPU. The performance of the Integrated GPU is for entry level graphics and not really great for gaming, though, it helps reduce system cost by not requiring a separate discrete graphics component. The core i3-330M is for entry level notebooks. More recently, the higher clocked, the core i3-380M has become more popular choice for the notebook manufacturers. The communication with the chipset is using fast differential DMI Bus.

Some more details of Core i3-350M

The 1st generation Intel core i3-350M processor allows 4 threads to run simultaneously. This greatly helps in situations where multiple threads are running in parallel. The 1st generation Intel Core i3-350M has been built with two dies on the chip, the first die has the two processor cores and the second die containing the Integrated memory controller and the integrated GPU. This should not concern you if you are only a user that does not need to go inside the details of the processor. Jut for your information, in care you care about. The core i3-330M is for entry level notebooks. More recently, the higher clocked, the core i3-380M has become more popular choice for the notebook manufacturers. The processor communicates with the chipset using DMI Bus - a fast differential Bus. Based upon Arrandale architecture - the core i3-350M has a fast processor to memory communication using its integrated graphics controller.
